June is National Indigenous History Month and June 21 is National Indigenous Peoples Day. The Township is encouraging residents to learn about Indigenous History and get involved. Information about National Indigenous History Month and learning resources can be found on the Government of Canada website.
To raise awareness of National Indigenous History Month the Township is seeking ideas and feedback from residents about "What does reconciliation mean to you?" Residents are invited to share ideas and suggestions for reconcili-Actions they want to see occur within their community. Submissions will be reviewed by the Reconciliation Action Plan Committee and brought forward to Council for consideration.

The Township of Adjala-Tosorontio is on a path towards reconciliation and is committed to advancing reconciliation by taking actions rooted in truth, acknowledgement, respect and equity. At the Regular Council Meeting held on June 12, 2024 Council formed a Reconciliation Action Plan Committee.
One of the many steps on the Township's path towards reconciliation is seeking input from the community on "What does reconciliation mean to you?". You're invited to share your thoughts which will be considered by the Reconciliation Action Plan Committee and used to guide the Township forward.
