Adjala-Tosorontio Council is working with Township Administration and Staff to develop a new plan to guide decisions and actions about the future of ADJTOS. This new Strategic Plan will create a vision for the next 10 years, along with specific steps we will take towards this vision throughout the balance of this Council's term.
Rob Adams from Town Hall Consulting Inc. is guiding the process. Rob is a well recognized leader in the municipal and administrative sector and has worked with a dynamic group of municipalities and organizations pursuing strategic planning opportunities.
Progress Report - Community Update:
We are pleased to present the public with an initial progress report and brief update on the Township's Strategic Plan. Your active involvement within each of the steps taken to date has supported our team's efforts in shaping and reshaping the report.
Your insights, feedback and ideas have played a pivotal role in refining the overall goals and strategies ensuring that they align with the needs and aspirations of our community. Be sure to click on this update to review the report.
Steps we've taken to get here:
An internal survey from Council members and Leadership Team members of our staff was conducted to pinpoint current challenges, identify priorities, and set the table with ‘audacious’ goals for greater community and staff discussion,
Hosted an initial Priority Setting Workshop at the end of July 2023 with Council and our Leadership Team to review the initial survey findings and conduct an analysis of key priorities to bring forward to the community,
A Workshop Update and initial listing of priority categories was presented publicly at the October 11, 2023 Regular Meeting of Council with some initial public feedback being received,
Council met to review this work in early November 2023 and began identifying key areas of focus, vision and mission. Updated Vision and Mission Statements were drafted at this second workshop with the full intention and motivation to seek community feedback and input.
Hosted our first Public Open House on March 8, 2024 with just under 20 attendees and participants offering input.
A Second Open House was held on April 27, 2024 at the Everett Legion with 18 attendees and participants engaged in session.
The external and community survey was completed as of May 7, 2024 and our team is reviewing the input and experience from across the Township from residents and stakeholders on the priority matters for the future.
What's next ADJTOS?
THANK YOU! We sought your input, and ideas to help us shape this new and updated strategic plan and the community responded. As we think about the future, we recognize the path forward is one to be taken collectively.
As a result, we look forward to implementing some modest changes that reflect the input provided. A presentation will be made at the Regular Meeting of Council in June. Follow this project for the pending updates and progress reports.

Each four-year cycle in the municipal sector offers an opportunity for a newly elected Council to pursue a forward-looking vision. With this in mind and through the support of Township staff and the community, Adjala-Tosorontio Council aspires to prepare a new strategic plan that identifies the vision, mission, values, priorities and initiatives that will guide the Township’s next four years and provide a foundation for future councils.
In 2023, Council and senior Township staff began the process by developing a draft strategic plan that identifies 6 priorities:
1. Operations & Good Governance
2. Financial
3. Planning
4. Economic Development
5. Communications
6. Infrastructure
The Township Of Adjala-Tosorontio values the input of our residents, businesses, and stakeholders in this process. We encourage you to review the draft strategic plan and provide feedback through the survey below which will be open until April 22nd, 2024
